HOLLYWOOD TUFF
Arrived 05/02/2000 Tuffie is doing well! I had to call all over to
find Colostrum. Thank you Kathy Smart of DOMINO FARMS for the frozen
Colostrum. Tuff Little Nicky died from a ruptured aorta artery in the
uterus. Thank you for being there Kelly & Ranveig. To everyone I
woke up in the middle of the night, thank you for your understanding my urgent
need to find colostrum to save my
foal.
On 05/03/2000 Tuffie had a Plasma transfusion because her IGG was a little
low, she is doing very well, I really appreciate all the help and support I have
received. It has been an adventure having to mix Foal Lac and preparing
bottles so my helpers can feed every 3 hours while I am at work. It was
much easier when I was in my 20's, these midnight & 3 A.M. feedings are a
little ruff on me. I will keep up dating as necessary.
05/05/2000 Tuffie is a little dehydrated today, we need to increase feedings
to 2 hours. Why sleep? I guess I will be moving into the barn.
I put one of my mares in the stall next to Tuffie, she talks to her all the
time. I thought it might be a good idea as this mare tried to steal a foal
off of one of my other mares last year. Too bad she is dry....oh
well, if she adopts her it will help alot!
Tuffie @ 11 days old. She is growing like a weed!

Little Nicky AQHA (06/07/1995-05/02/2000)
06/04/2000 Tuffie has been out in the field with one of my mares for over a
week now! The mare loves her and is teaching her manners! She went
for her first trailer ride the other day, had a visit from the farrier
yesterday, she is learning to be a horse. We now have feedings @ 12 hour intervals,
so now my life is back to normal (as normal as it can be due to my
occupation).
Tuffie looks wonderful because I have her on TDI 16% Horse Feed, Foal Lac
powdered milk and Foal Lac milk based pellets. You wouldn't know she is an
orphan by looking at her!
06/08/2000 Tuffie has finally given
up waiting for me at the gate and is now going out into the field with
Roxie. She running up and down the fence with other horses. In a few
days I will turn the black & white mare w/foal in with Roxie & Tuffie,
then she will have a companion to play with.
12/20/2000 Tuffie is doing great! She is a
big girl now and shares a small pasture with Picaso, the weanling gelding shown
below that was born on 05/21/2000. They are Great Buddies!
