Buddhist believe that all desire leads to suffering
yet thru my life i have desired many things

My desire has been mostly fulfilled
in my quest for knowledge & adventure
leading me on some very far out journeys.

One very exotic trip was spent in Hualta, Mexico.
we played music in the zocolo
and i was given a silver ring by a spirit guide.
an old woman approached me
to sell some funky embroidered linens,
but i noticed the old and well worn
silver heart ring on her finger
i asked "cuanto es este?"
and she refused to sell it
when i convinced her the ring would be special to me
she gave it to me, for $1.
She said it was her wedding ring
and then she said

"with it i give you my spirit"

i still have the ring



i know this woman was one of my lifetime guides.

for days we had been in Hualta, with mushrooms,
and the ring was the last thing that happened
before we got on the bus and to return to Oaxaca
