1999
I will always be thankful for the Fall of 1999. Willie, who had
been in Europe for about six years, came home. He lived with
us for about a month and it was really a great time for me.
We played golf a few times together.
(We were golfing when I took the picture above.)
Willie did not golf a lot, but he always went out there thinking
that he was going to win. Throughout Willie's childhood we did
a lot of playing together and it was just fun to be playing with him again.Willie and I also worked on his Grandfather's Cadillac.
The "Major" had given it to us because he had decided not
to drive anymore. Will did not want to own a Cadillac so the plan
was for us to fix it up, sell it, and split the money.
We did not have a lot of success fixing it up, but we had
fun trying and, eventually, we did manage to sell it.Another fond memory of last fall was Will's cooking. We could have
gone over to the Major's to eat because Will's Mom was cooking over
there every night, and some nights we did. However, there were
many nights when Will wanted to stay in and cook at
home. He really was a good cook and we gorged
on his huge pasta creations while watching
TV or playing CD's.It was a great visit and I was sad to see him
leave. I was really proud of Will, though, because he
did exactly what he said he was going to do. He went
to Tahoe and got jobs (that included ski passes) and a
place to live and had a great winter back in the USA.Ken, Will's Dad
