Joshua Bruck Joshua was born June 21st, 1983 in Petersborough,
Lincolnshire, England, to Jayne Bruck and Edwin
Lauren Bruck. Since his mother is from England and
his father is from the United States, Josh is a “dual
national,” holding citizenship in both countries.A friendly and bright student, Josh began school in
Dunsmuir in first grade with Mr. Jerry Skinner, who
was also Willie's teacher. Josh learned to play
trombone in Mr. Michael Wright’s music program and
enjoyed playing, marching and traveling with the
Dunsmuir Elementary School Band.At Dunsmuir High Josh was in band all four years,
playing the trombone. “And, he was the best stage
hand-- ever,” said Mr. Palmore. He also loved sports,
participating in basketball, volleyball, track and
football. He played football all four years,
moving up to the varsity team for play-offs in his
sophomore year. “I can’t imagine life without team
sports, "said Josh. "Sports let out aggression and can
create a great sense of unity."Josh and his mother Jayne, sister Jessica, and
stepfather Finley Fryer, enjoy an
"art-full" existence at the unique home, gallery, and
sculpture garden they have created on Sacramento
Avenue. Both Josh’s parents are successful artists,
while his sister, an accomplished musician and singer,
attends Willamette University and plans a career in
teaching. Josh, now attending San Diego State
University, plans to become an Athletic Trainer.“I have loved this town,” he said. “ You live here
without fear, in security and the friendships just
grow with you. People are ‘there’ for you, to share
success and to help in times of trouble.” An example
of Josh as one of those ready help others came last
year when he took over some of Mr. Palmore’s duties,
while he was with Willie in Reno. Josh led the pit
band during the Dunsmuir High School extravagant
musical revue, “Through the Decades,” spring of 2000.
Josh has expressed his sincere appreciation to the
Palmore family, and we would like to express our
congratulations and appreciation to him.
We wish him every success.
Fun, and culture, is where you find it.
Josh happily traveled as a very young child.
