Early in 1996, Will was sent to Bosnia with Charlie Company,
as part of Operation Joint Endeavor. U.S. and N.A.T.O.
troops were sent as peacekeeping forces to the war
torn former Republic of Yugoslavia.
Will is wearing shades in this photo taken with his squad.
Eric and Will were reunited in
Germany in 1995 when Eric
transferred from the States. Early in
1996, both went to Bosnia.
They shared many adventures
from the earliest days
of grade school.
Will is pictured with explosives
which were used by engineers.
Charged with the job of destroying the hideouts of snipers,
Will was his usual enthusiastic self.
Willie stood out in the crowd with Eric at a USO show.
One of Will's famous self portraits
shows him with USO performer,
Cheryl Crow.
We have a video of this
performance on the
stage that the USO acts
played. He sang his high
school hit, the cover of
"Keep Your Hands to
Yourself."Listen To A 60 Second

In the fall of 1996, Will was discharged from active duty after being promoted
to the rank of sergeant. He took a "European Out" and found work at
Armed Forces Recreation Center, Chiemsee, which he had visited on leave
from his home base in Baumholder, Germany.
