Seeing this milepost reminded me of when I was a kid and there were
hundreds of 567's traversing this railroad. You could hear those
EMD Covered Wagons and Cadillacs for hours up here.
Same thing down on the Shasta by Dunsmuir,Donner and Tehachapi.
We were dug in at about 18 MPH here with two Big GE's and an SD70
with 5300 tons. Same train in the old days probably had 4-6 wagons
up front, 4-6 cut in, and a couple shoving slack.
They were also probably down to about 10 or 11 mph.....
