How to configure
your system for National Access
To use our National
Access, you must first sign up for National Access with SnowCrest.
Once you have done that, you will also need to make some changes
to your computer's dial-up settings of your computer. The
short version of the instructions are as follows:
1. Enter the phone
number for the city you will be in. It
is your responsibility to make sure this number is local to
you. SnowCrest absolutely will not be held responsible for
any long distance charges that may incur by you calling our
national phone numbers. The list
of these phone numbers is available here.
2. Change your user
name for the dial-up connection to "isps/snow.username".
Previously this would have just been "username".
The long version follows (The examples
are given for Windows 98):
1. Open the "My Computer" icon and then open "Dial-Up
Networking"
2. Double-click on "Make
New Connection"
3. Enter a unique name
for this connection.
4. Enter the phone number
your computer should dial. Get this number here.
It is your responsibility to make sure
that this number is local to you. SnowCrest absolutely will
not be held responsible for any long distance charges that
may incur by you dialing our national access numbers.
5. Click "Finish".
6. Double-click on the
new connection to bring up this screen. Enter "isps/snow.username"
in the "User name" field. Make sure to replace "username"
with your account name. Enter your password in the "Password"

That's it!
