Note to all Windows 2000 Users The current version of the
SnowCrest CD (version 3.0) cannot install Microsoft Internet Explorer
on Windows 2000. It is recommended that you use the Netscape Communicator
installation instead as the easiest way to get on line quickly. 1. Go to "Start", "Settings", and "Network and Dial-up Connections"
3. At the Network Connection
Wizard, click "Next"
4. Select "Dial-up to
the Internet"
5. Select "I want to
set up my Internet connection manually, or I want to connect through
a local area (LAN)"
6. Select "I connect
through a phone line and a modem"
7. Enter the telephone number
provided to you by SnowCrest. This phone number is on the sheet
labeled "Important Settings for Windows Installation"
8. Enter your account name
and password. These are also on the sheet labeled "Important
Settings for Windows Installation"
9. Name the connection "SnowCrest"
and click "Next"
10. Select "Yes"
and click "Next"
11. If this screen comes up,
select "Create a new Internet mail account"
12. This is your real name.
13. Enter your e-mail address.
This is your account name, followed by "@snowcrest.net".
The example here has entered "johnsmith@snowcrest.net"
14. Enter "mail.snowcrest.net" into both fields and click "Next"
15. Enter your account name
and password. Note that you should NOT put in the "@snowcrest.net"
16. Click Finish.
17. Make sure this window
says you are connecting to SnowCrest, and that your account name
is correct. Then hit "Connect", and you're done!
If you want to, you can
also set the SnowCrest home page to be your default home page. To
do this, follow these steps below. 18. In Internet Explorer, select "Tools" and "Internet Options"
19. Enter "http://www.snowcrest.net"
into the "Address:" field.
20. To bring up SnowCrest's
home page, click on the "Home" button on the toolbar.
That's it!
