Mountain Bikes
RECREATIONAL MOUNTAIN BIKES are a great all purpose bike for on or offroad. They are fun and durable and a great way to ride with your friends and family. They are available in a standard mountain or a COMFORT MOUNTAIN BIKE. Comfort bikes have adjustable stems to allow sitting upright and shock seatposts paired with a "real" seat - bike riding is more fun without the pain! These are sturdy enough for light trail use which we define as "anywhere a pickup truck could go". If the trails are too steep, rocky or narrow for a truck, then you should be thinking about moving up to a more specific MOUNTAIN BIKE. They have different geometry (the wheelbase, frame angles) that is designed to take tighter turns, and handlebars are lower to keep the front end down when climbing hills.
Trek offers some models in a WOMEN SPECIFIC DESIGN (WSD). These bikes are engineered to fit women and are sized appropriately so they can have a bike that handles well on the trails
