Trinity River Fishing Seasons
Best Times for Salmon and Steelhead Runs

July - September: Spring Run Chinook Salmon

September - November: Fall Run Chinook

October - March: Steelhead

 

   Spring and Fall run Chinook salmon begin entering the River in May and continue into November. Summer months can be as productive as Fall with chrome bright salmon migrating to prenatal spawning grounds. We begin Guided trips in July for a reliable start of salmon season, June can also offer some excellent angling.

   Steelhead will surprise anglers with some early spring and summer action, October, November and December are prime months with the best weather. January - March offer great winter action with sections of River sometimes blowing out with storms, the mid to upper Trinity generally is fishable all year.
