CALIFORNIA
RANCH OPERATIONS
We own and breed horses in two locations: our
"home" property on the Klamath River in Northern California, and at the farm of
our trainers in Stanton, Kentucky, Van Bert
Farms.
We have a small number of horses at our
property at Copco Lake. We ride the horses on trails and on roundups in the
mountains, and breed from two to four foals each year. See the Our California or Kentucky
Mares page for a description of the specific horses we currently have at the ranch.
We are excited
to announce that we have hired a wonderful
trainer, Beverly Frost, to come to Triple S
Ranch. Bev has an extensive background in
training show and pleasure horses of various
breeds, including gaited breeds. She is also
an accomplished equine massage therapist.
Bev and her husband Ed will be coming December 1
to our Montague location and will be moving with
the horses next year to be the resident trainer at
our Eagle Point facility.

Our original goal
was to produce a versatile pleasure-riding
type of horse in California and to focus show prospect breeding in Kentucky, where the
sanctioned show circuit is available. However,
we have been wanting to focus more of our
energy on showing and promoting Mountain
Horses out West and to be able to have all
of our brood mares and youngsters at our
home ranch. We have now taken a big
step toward this goal with the purchase of
our new ranch in Eagle Point, Oregon, about
an hour north of our current location.
We will not be able to begin moving our
horses to the new ranch until summer of
2002, but we have started the process by
bringing out more horses to our California
property. |
The horse property is
specifically maintained to provide for optimum health and well-being of our horses. All horses
have their own shelters and spacious paddocks, in addition to pasture turn-out. The
horses are on a regular program of medical and farrier care, with regular shots, boosters,
worming and exercise. Every effort is made to keep the ranch parasite-free through a
variety of techniques. |

Our location is remote, but worth the effort to come visit!
Most of our California horses are well-trained riding mounts, and there is always a
horse available to demonstrate the smooth Rocky Mountain gait. There are miles of
trails which can be used in all seasons. Persons seriously interested in purchase of
a horse are able to stay in our spacious guest house at the ranch site so that they can
spend sufficient time getting to know the horses. |
Triple S Ranch is located about 35 miles
northeast of Yreka,
California (from Interstate 5) at Copco Lake. The street address of the ranch
property is 20820 Ager Beswick Road. Our ranch managers, Richard and Judy Probst,
live on the premises and dedicate themselves, as we do, to maintaining the property as
heaven on earth for horses. |
