  We own and breed horses in two locations: our "home" property on the Klamath River in Northern California, and at the farm of our trainers in Stanton, Kentucky, Van Bert Farms.

 We keep some of our horses at the beautiful Kentucky farm of our trainers, the Derickson family, at Van Bert Farms in Stanton, Kentucky.  Currently, the Kentucky herd includes several brood mares and youngsters as well as show horses and show prospects.  When our new ranch in Oregon is ready for horses in the summer of 2002, all brood mares and pleasure prospects will be moved to the West Coast, while our stallions and younger show prospects will remain with our trainers to be shown on the UMH, Futurity, and RMHA show circuits.

 

Although the number of foals we produce each year will remain limited, we have been carefully acquiring a select group of mares over the years to achieve our breeding goals.   These include mares with proven breeding records for producing top quality foals, as well as top show mares who are now beginning to produce foals of their own.  Just as in California, all Kentucky horses are on a regular schedule of shots, worming, tooth and hoof care.

We stand three stallions at Van Bert Farms: Two proven champions, Choco Dock and Triple S Iron Man, and an exciting young performer who will be shown as a three year old in 2002: Triple S First Warning.  We are proud of the records of our stallions and the records of their offspring.  Please see the Stallions and Breeders Incentive Program pages for more information.    

We ship semen for all stallions.  The staff at Van Bert Farms is experienced in the collecting, handling and shipping of cooled semen.  We are very proud of the accomplishments of our stallions, and are eagerly looking forward to their new offspring!   Please see the Our Stallions page for more information and pictures.
