"Let them prefer nothing whatever to Christ, and may he bring us all together for everlasting life" Rule of Benedict, 72:11-12
Dominican (Order of Preachers)
Dominicans are priests, brothers, sisters, lay women and men, who have been called to serve the Lord through the vision and heritage of our Holy Father, Saint Dominic. The Order challenges us to a life of prayer, study, community and apostolate. These elements must be developed and fostered in every Dominican vocation.
Franciscans
The Franciscans were founded by Saint Francis of Assisi (1182-4 Oct 1226) and Saint Clare of Assisi (1194-11 Aug 1253). The Franciscan Orders include the Friars Minor (the lesser brethren), the Poor Clares, and the Third Order.
