Mac OS X Mail

"Mail" is the built-in Email program for MacOS X. Configuration is simple. Find the Mail icon in the Dock (at the bottom of the screen), and click it.

New Account Setup

If there is no account set up in Mail, you will see this screen when you open Mail.

Enter the following information:

1. Type your SnowCrest Email address in the "Email Address" box.
2. Type "mail.snowcrest.net" in the "Incoming Mail Server" box.
3. Make sure "POP" is selected for "Mail Server Type"
4. Type in your SnowCrest Email username in the "User Account ID" box. If your SnowCrest Email is "myname@snowcrest.net", you would only enter "myname" here. This box is case sensitive.
5. Type in the password to the Email account in the "Password" box.
6. Type "mail.snowcrest.net" in the "Outgoing (SMTP) Mail Server" box.
7. Click "OK" and you're done!

If you already have one Email account in Mail, and would like to add another one, go to the "Mail" menu that is right next to the "Apple" menu, and select "Preferences".

The "Accounts" area should be highlighted already. Click "Create Account".

Enter the following information:

1. In the "Description" box, type a description to differentiate this account from others in Mail.
2. Type your Email address in the "Email Address" box.
3. Type your name in the "Full Name" box.
4. Type "mail.snowcrest.net" in the "Host Name" box.
5. Type in your SnowCrest Email username in the "User Name" box. If your SnowCrest Email is "myname@snowcrest.net", you would only enter "myname" here. This box is case sensitive.
6. Type in the password to the Email account in the "Password" box.
7. Type "mail.snowcrest.net" in the "SMTP Host" box.
8. Click the "Account Options" tab at the top of the window for more options.

1. Put a check mark in the box next to "Delete messages on server after downloading".
2. Click "OK" and you're done.
